Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

Argentina, South America

This Committee finds the English press most generous and courteous. The press generally is not unfriendly. The Buenos Aires Herald and The Standard continue to publish notices of Christian Science Sunday services and Wednesday meetings as well as the subject and Golden Text for Sunday services. Both of these papers published substantial portions of the condensed report, supplied by the Manager of Committees on Publication, concerning the 1945 Annual Meeting of The Mother Church. The Argentine Magazine and The Buenos Aires Herald use our "Gems of Thought" material. Notices of the Thanksgiving services and the special meetings on the cessation of hostilities in Europe and in the Pacific were published by the two newspapers first mentioned above.

The Manager of Committees on Publication was instrumental in securing from The Christian Science Publishing Society free subscriptions for the Christian Science periodicals, including our daily newspaper, The Christian Science Monitor, for filing with the Under-Secretary of Information and Press, in compliance with a decree of January 5, 1944.
