"STEP BY STEP"

Our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, speaks of the logic of divine Science and of its demonstrable truth. Thus in working out any problem in Christian Science we advance as we hold to divine Principle and check our thoughts often to see that they are not at variance with the truth.

On page 444 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mrs. Eddy writes, "Step by step will those who trust Him find that 'God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.'" Now this is not arduous. Often just one scientific statement rightly applied heals a trying situation or so-called serious disease. At other times, it is necessary to use the mental argument, to follow through, step by step, with the wonderful truths that are given us in Christian Science till we are conscious of the right, logical, and harmonious conclusion.

This was proved by the writer in a recent experience in working out a problem of human relationships. Much unkindness had been expressed by those around her, and there seemed to be a complete disregard of rightful duties and obligations. In endeavoring to see the truth about the situation, the student turned first to God as the source of all good. She declared the perfection of God and His creation, recognizing that in reality those about her were the perfect children of God, reflecting lovely qualities from their heavenly Father, expressed in kindness, honesty, justice, and the like. But little relief was obtained.
