Church Dedications
Note: Christian Science churches are dedicated only when free from debt.
Indianapolis, Indiana (Third Church).
Third Church of Christ, Scientist, Indianapolis, at Washington Boulevard and Thirty-fourth Street, was dedicated on Sunday, May 25, 1947. Services were held in the morning, afternoon, and evening.
This church was organized in April, 1916, and recognized as a branch by The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts. Beginning May 10, 1916, services of the newly chartered church were held in Oriental Lodge Hall at Twenty-second Street and Central Avenue, until the congregation moved to a temporary structure at 3350 Washington Boulevard in March, 1919.
