"BE STILL, AND KNOW"

What profound and wise counsel is contained in the Psalmist's admonition (Ps. 46:10), "Be still, and know that I am God"! To become conscious of the divine presence and the beauty and power of holiness, one must first silence the strivings of material sense and self.

There is a stillness of heart when thought is filled with the perfect peace which springs from the realization of man's oneness with his Maker. It may be experienced in solitude or in the midst of bustling activity. But he who would experience quietude must still the ceaseless demands of mortal mind which would distract attention from the things of Spirit. In stilling material sense, he hears the voice of Soul whispering of the perfectness of all that God has made. Then the radiance of the divine light and intelligence of perfect Mind quickens his spiritual perception, and he beholds in some measure the beauty of God's creation.

All that man is, all that he has, is included in his reflection of God. There is actually nothing outside of the divine consciousness. That which man has that which a loving Father already has bestowed upon him, he does not need to strive for. It is we who need to open our thought to perceive this truth and claim its blessings.
