GOOD INDIVISIBLE
One
came to him and said,
"Lord, speak to my brother;
Tell him to divide the inheritance with me."
Aware of that great bounty,
Spiritual abundance,
Present for all, ever at hand,
Should Jesus quibble with petty dividing?
"Man," he answered him,
"Who made me a judge or a divider?"
And looking on those who stood around,
He warned them to beware of covetousness.
He told them then the parable
Of that ill-fated man who built great barns.
Tore down and built again and larger,
Storing his treasure, then died the selfsame night
His profitless project was complete.
