TRUE FELLOWSHIP

True understanding gives us newborn sight
Cleansing our thought of what we think we see
In those we mingle with from day to day,
And most in those to whom our hearts are drawn;
Helps us to see our brother, as did Jacob,
Doubtful of Esau's motive, when he prayed
To God for help, and, reaping his reward,
Said to his brother. "I have seen thy face,
As though I had seen the face of God, and thou
Wast pleased with me." So friendship reigned again.
For understanding is the line that Love
Draws between truth and falsehood. Armed with this,
We may behold our brother in the light
By which God sees him, and be satisfied.
