Deep gratitude impels me to...

Deep gratitude impels me to share the following experiences because I have been so inspired and benefited by the testimonies of others.

I must admit I did not even begin to get down to business in Christian Science until after I had had the blessing of class instruction from a consecrated teacher. This teacher's undeviating expression of Truth and Love awoke me to the absolute necessity of consistently living Christian Science. I saw that Science should not, and indeed cannot, be turned off and on as necessity or our troubles dictate. I realized that it had to be thought and lived all day, every day; not only talked about or even thought about, but put into action. Mrs. Eddy comes straight to the point when she says in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 3), "Action expresses more gratitude than speech."

Before this time, however, I was healed instantaneously of whooping cough during the height of the summer, and at another time of measles. One day when I realized how dependent I was becoming on glasses I took them off. After I did this everything appeared distorted. I saw then how wrong it was not to be able to see clearly without them. Normal conditions seemed to be reversed: clarity with glasses, distortion without them. I decided I would submit no longer to this sense of limitation and bondage. The healing was quick and has been permanent. Today I am enjoying unusually good vision, for which I am very grateful.
