Letters to the Press from Christian Science Committees on Publication

The Courier

R. Ashley Vines, Committee on Publication for Victoria, Australia The Courier, Ballarat

It is good to see the work of the Christian ministry referred to as "The Healing Ministry," the caption at the head of one of your columns reporting a sermon in a recent issue of The Courier. Christian Scientists are in agreement with this minister when he says, "I do not believe in faith healing, but I do believe in divine healing through faith," provided, of course, that it is recognized that the healing is "divine," and therefore the outcome of an understanding faith in God, Life, Truth, Love, "who healeth all thy diseases," and that it is not due to reliance upon or faith in material or physical methods of healing in any form.

When Jesus said, "Before Abraham was, I am," he manifestly referred to the eternality of the Christ, Truth, which healed the sick long before the Christian era. The sacred pages of the Scriptures are replete with accounts of the triumph of Spirit, Mind, over beliefs in matter.
