"Our Manual place"

[Of Special Interest to Children]

It was vacation time! Only last week, school had closed for the summer.

Alice Mary and her brother Teddy lived on a little farm just outside of town. How they enjoyed these first vacation days! The baby chicks bad hatched and were so soft and fluffy to touch. The mother hen clucked happily when the children gave her mash and fresh lettuce leaves. The Jersey cow was friendly and loved to be petted as she ate her breakfast. Then, one Saturday. Mother brought home a new croquet set and everyone was learning to play with it on the shady lawn.

So on Sunday morning, after breakfast, when Mother said. "Come, children, we must review your lesson before it is time to go to Sunday school," the children looked unhappy, and began to think of their pets and the new croquet set lying in the box on the porch!
