I should like very much to express...

I should like very much to express my gratitude for Christian Science, and also to acknowledge a healing of astigmatism I received while working and praying for the war effort. It seemed that England would fall at any time, and when I heard of so many English soldiers being trapped in Dunkerque I was overwhelmed with fear at first, since I had never tried to work for all mankind, always having been busy with my own problems.

At that particular time I tried to forget self and started working as we are taught in Christian Science. Early each morning I studied the Lesson-Sermon from the Christian Science Quarterly, the Bible, and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Then I read our Leader's other writings for several hours and spent the rest of the day clearing my thought in regard to the war situation.

As a result of this work it was clear to me that God's ideas could never be trapped, but that they were forever in their rightful places in divine Mind. I do not remember how many times I declared this truth before the tension gave way in my thought. I was always inspired to declare that "right is might," and therefore we would win the fight .
