As an expression of my deep...

As an expression of my deep gratitude to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for her flawless provision for the salvation of all mankind through Christian Science. I give this testimony.

I was reared in an orthodox faith, but after spending my early years in its church activities, I suddenly found myself separated from these ties by marriage. My husband and I lived in a distant city, where we soon made new friends in a group which had no church interests. Before long, all thought of spiritual things faded from my consciousness.

Then followed ten years of seeking happiness through social avenues. This brought about a state of nervous exhaustion. After much medication and treatments of various kinds, it seemed necessary that I spend some time in a hospital. While I was there an acquaintance came to call on me. She left a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and recommended that I read it. After she had gone I opened the book, and became so deeply absorbed in the chapter on Prayer that I sat up all night going over and over those few pages. The following day I insisted on going home. I was fully convinced that Christian Science held my release.
