Spiritual Poise
The Rev. Aaron N. Meckel as quoted in The Boston Herald Massachusetts
One of the profoundest gifts to us of our Christian faith in this time is a consciousness which, while attentive and sensitive to human need, retains its spiritual poise. Mind you, we do not advocate retreat from reality, but poise, balance, and the level head in the midst of the dire calamities of the hour.
It was from the mountaintop of prayer and communion with his Father and ours that Jesus went down into the human midst, to serve, redeem, suffer, and die "that the kingdom of God might come to earth."
