Go Forward
"And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward" (Ex. 14:15). This God-given privilege of going forward belongs to everyone. In fact, no one can escape it, for divine Love forces one to accept that which promotes the growth of mortal mind out of its own beliefs. The ever-operating law of Principle compels progress.
Christian Science reveals Life, Being itself, as God, divine Mind, the one power. Therefore the only existence there can be, is as changeless as Principle, as diseaseless as Truth, as deathless as Life. Always conscious of its ideas. Mind out of the richness of its abundance and power is continuously maintaining its ideas. Creation is the unfoldment of the ideas of Mind.
In Deuteronomy we read (4:39), "The Lord he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else." And in Psalms (62:11), "God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God." The counterfeit of this spiritual truth is set forth in Job (1:6), where evil claims a place in God's kingdom: "Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them." Referring to the dictionary, we find "Satan" defined as "the great adversary of man," and adversary means anything that opposes or resists. What is it that opposes or resists one's liberty or perfection as a child of God? What is the great adversary that claims to obstruct one's capacity to think and act with intelligence and in accord with Principle? Is it not that age-old superstitious belief in an evil power equal to, if not more potent than, the power of good?
