Mere words are inadequate to express my gratitude for Christian Science and all the blessings that have been bestowed on me since taking up its study. Seven years ago I had a wonderful healing of mastoid trouble in my left ear. When first it became noticeable I thought something had got into the ear. I immediately declared that there is no obstruction in divine Mind, and repeated "the scientific statement of being" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 468), endeavoring to allow no fear to enter into my consciousness. The trouble became more acute, and I decided to call upon a practitioner for help.

After I had had work done for some days, there did not seem to be a change for the better and I began to sense deafness in my left ear, and my head on that side was swelling. I was able to attend to my duties at the store, although I was somewhat handicapped in answering telephone calls. Of the many fellow workers around me, only a few noticed my difficulty.

Some friends visiting our home one evening when the ailment was most noticeable urged me to see a specialist. I spoke to the practitioner regarding this, and he stated that if I had the diagnosis made he would continue the work, provided no medical treatment was given. The following evening I went to the specialist, who, after giving me a very thorough examination, said everything pointed to mastoiditis. When I arrived home I called the practitioner and told him what the doctor's diagnosis had been. My wife expressed considerable fear, but I reassured her with the knowledge that the practitioner was working for me. I knew everything was going to come out all right.
