The Law

In "Rudimental Divine Science" (p. 1) Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, defines this Science as "the law of God the law of good, interpreting and demonstrating the divine Principle and rule of universal harmony." It is "the law of God." and God is All. Therefore Christian Science is founded upon the fact that God is the only Life, the only Love, the only Truth, the only Mind, the source of all action.

According to the Bible, man is the image and likeness of God; and on page 470 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mrs. Eddy tells us that "man is the expression of God's being." Then, if we would apply Christian Science in our experience, we must know that our life is "hid with Christ in God" (Col. 3:3); that our business is increasingly to represent God, without limitation or obstruction, and to express the God-qualities which constitute man's true being.

We have the Scriptural assurance that man the reflection of God, is ever with the Father, "in the secret place of the most High." To understand this places man above all material casualties. War cannot touch, invade, or bomb such an abiding place. No evil, no sickness, no accident enters here. With one Love, and that God supreme in our hearts, we shall love our neighbor as ourselves, and radiate that Love which knows no variableness, no pretense, and no partiality. Such a reflection of divine Love is apart from all personality and is in no way attached to materiality.
