Every morning when I awake I humbly thank God that Christian Science is the only religion I have ever known. I am thankful that my sisters and brothers and I had the wonderful privilege of attending the Christian Science Sunday School, and that the simple truths learned there taught us at an early age to turn to God for the healing of all our problems. We had holdings of a crushed foot, a broken bone, jaundice, typhoid fever, mumps, measles, lack, and many other claims of error; some healings were instantaneous, while others came about more slowly.

When I reached the age limit for attendance in the Sunday school and went into the business world I fully intended to join the church but felt that there was no need to do so at once as long as I studied the Lesson-Sermon daily and turned to God with all my problems. If anyone had said that I was not a good student of Christian Science I should have been very indignant, because I really believed I was living and using Christian Science every day. I was receptive to the truth, and both physical and financial problems were quickly healed, many times instantaneously, sometimes with the help of a practitioner and sometimes by my own work. I went to church when convenient, and felt satisfied.

A few years ago I became the victim of a difficulty which, to material sense, was very serious. I called for help, and the pain and discomfort were instantaneously healed, but the visible manifestation would not yield. After several weeks I dismissed the practitioner because the problem appeared to be one I needed to solve myself. I work with the public, and there were criticism and human opinions to be destroyed.
