Finding Our Home in God
Journal-Herald
Dayton, Ohio
God is not in some distant realm. He is here. When the Psalmist said, "I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever," he was not speaking of a far-distant place to be reached only by passing through the forbidding gates of death. He knew that the presence of the Lord constitutes our home.
There is rest in such knowledge. It does away with nagging nighttime fears and worries to realize with the Psalmist. "I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety."
