The word from which we get the name "Beatitude" may be translated "blessed." But a second translation which is equally as accurate is "happy."

"[Happy] are the poor in spirit: for their's is the kingdom of heaven," or, as Dr. Goodspeed translates it, "Blessed are those who feel their spiritual need, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to them!"
