Infinite Opportunity
Many people are approaching postwar conditions with apprehension and doubt, anticipating a business slump and unemployment with all its attendant evils. A considerable number of young people, whose careers have been interrupted by the war, are gravely concerned about their prospects.
Christian Science teaches that one can face the future fearlessly, because the law of God is unceasingly operating in the government and direction of the affairs of all those who understandingly trust and turn to the omnipotent and omnipresent Mind. Christian Science also reveals the scientific, spiritual fact that man, as the reflection of God, is never out of place and never lacks rightful opportunity, but is always happy and useful in his relationships and activities.
The student of this Science knows, as did Paul, that "it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure" (Phil. 2:13). In other words, God is continuously expressed by His reflection, man, in wisdom, intelligence, ability, capacity, and all the divine qualities and attributes, which can never be unwanted or wasted. The way for us to prove and realize this great fact is to turn away from the false sense of self with its limitations and fears, and to discover our true selfhood in the image and likeness of God.
