Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

Oklahoma

In view of the present difficulties which newspaper publishers are encountering, particularly in the shortage of newsprint, we are very grateful for the attention given us. Many newspapers in Oklahoma are greatly reduced in size. Some have discontinued publication. Nevertheless, a generous amount of space has been given to our material. We furnish regular items for the press, weekly, monthly, and annually.

The Lesson-Sermon excerpts were published, at least in part, in sixty-eight state newspapers. To co-operate with editors in conserving space, the length of the Lesson-sermon excerpts has been reduced when it was practical to do so without affecting their purpose. Sixty-six editors accepted the Gems of Thought for weekly publication, but they are occasionally omitted. Two hundred and seventy-six plates and mats of religious articles from The Christian Science Monitor went to editors who had agreed to publish them. Forty-five Christian Science lectures given in the state received considerable newspaper notice. One third of the lectures were published in full.
