I received my introduction to...
I received my introduction to Christian Science at a lecture given one Sunday afternoon. The same lecturer gave another lecture the following Tuesday at the noon hour, which I also attended. I cannot put into words just what I got from these lectures, but it was something which profoundly changed my way of life. Immediately afterwards I began to attend the Sunday services and Wednesday evening testimony meetings of the church which had sponsored these lectures. I became an earnest student of Christian Science, being admitted in due course to membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church.
I did not take up the study of this Science for physical healing, but I wish to say, with deepest gratitude, how greatly I have been helped through the years by the testimonies of healing which I have read in our periodicals and heard at our Wednesday evening meetings. It soon dawned on me that the blessings which God had bestowed on others He had not withheld from me; that my birthright of infinite good was here for me to accept or reject. Mrs. Eddy's words in Science and Health (p. 13) deeply impressed me when first I read them: "Love is impartial and universal in its adaptation and bestowals."
During the twenty years or more that I have been studying Christian Science I have enjoyed excellent health, a fact which I attribute to this study and the endeavor to conform my life to the teachings of this Science.
