For many years my life has been immeasurably enriched by Christian Science.

Twenty-eight years ago my mother was desperately ill with diabetes and organic disorders. After submitting to an operation without receiving relief, she turned to Christian Science and was healed. As a result of this healing I had the privilege of attending the Christian Science Sunday School from the time I was ten.

I should like to share an experience I had when returning from a visit to the Middle West in 1929. When I boarded the train at Topeka, Kansas, it was about six hours late. The conductor informed me that I should miss a scheduled change of trains in Colorado Springs the next day, because it would be impossible to make up enough time during the balance of the night to make the connection. This would make it necessary to continue my trip twenty-four hours late. I had no surplus funds for the hotel and extra meals this would entail. When I retired, I lay in my berth, working as we are taught in Christian Science. I knew that man is always in his right place. I knew that God is everywhere, and that He was with me, so I could not help being in exactly the right place at all times. With that thought I fell asleep, and did not think of the situation again. The next day the conductor told me to hurry, for my train was waiting. I had just time to run from one car to the other.
