"Beside the still waters"
How
tranquilly are Mind's ideas expressed:
The placid river flowing to the sea;
The quiet majesty of dawn; the tree
Lifting its grateful branches to the sun;
The hush at eventide as, one by one,
The starry host with solemn heraldry
Enrobes the night with grandeur, silently—
Their calm response to His divine behest!
O Thou almighty One, help us to go
Our way unhurried, undisturbed; to know
The joy of rest in action—lasting peace;
To reach the heights where earthly dreams will cease
To terrify; in all our ways to be
Like him who stilled the storm on Galilee.
