Thanks be to God for Christian Science. I consider it a privilege to acknowledge my gratitude to God and to Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of this Science, for giving her revelation to the world. As each individual demonstrates the divine origin of the truth revealed in her inspiring book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." by healing the sick, blessing will be brought in some measure to all.

The Bible records some of the commands given by Jesus to his disciples. Among these is the command to heal the sick. Mrs. Eddy, in the Manual of The Mother Church (Art. XXX, Sect. 7), makes the following observation: "Healing the sick and the sinner with Truth demonstrates what we affirm of Christian Science, and nothing can substitute this demonstration." She then admonishes her followers. "I recommend that each member of this Church shall strive to demonstrate by his or her practice, that Christian Science heals the sick quickly and wholly, thus proving this Science to be all that we claim for it."

To those with unsolved problems, no matter what their name or nature, let me give a word of encouragement and positive assurance that Christian Science does heal when properly applied. This has been proved to my complete satisfaction by members of our family for the past twenty-five years. They have had many benefits from the study and application of the teachings of Christian Science, and it has never failed them. Some healings have been instantaneous; others have required a more diligent application of the all-embracing truth. There have been healings of pneumonia, nervous breakdown, inflammatory rheumatism, gallstones, gunpowder burns on the eyeballs, and many other difficulties. For some time, in spite of these healings which came under my observation, I was prejudiced against and somewhat skeptical of what I supposed Christian Science to be. Not until I was healed of chronic stomach trouble, which several physicians had failed to relieve, was this mental state overcome.
