The Reading Room
Here
, in this quietness, we find Love's presence,
And breathe the inspiration of the truth.
For Love has made a sanctuary here.
Where tired hearts may turn from turbulence
And all the noises of the common day
To find repose and calm. No jarring thought
May enter or disturb this happy room.
All the surroundings speak of Love's provision;
The color, warmth, and comfort, light and cheer,
Show forth the boundless amplitude of good.
And those who come seeking but human rest
Find often that their thought is roused to ask:
"Who is behind this bounty? Is it God?"
Then are their hearts awakened, and they see
The vision splendid—not intangible.
Not couched in theory and mystic cloud.
But Truth that is to them their strength and life,
A present help, a harbinger of joy.
So, through the silent ministry of Love,
They find the pathway to eternal peace.
