I write this testimony because I...
I write this testimony because I have no recent physical healing to report. I am grateful for the absence of any need for healing. To me it is the biggest blessing which Christian Science can bestow. It is a wonderful experience to learn that there is no evil belief which cannot be overcome before it is manifested as easily as it can be mastered after it has appeared to human sense. In my own experience, I have seen accident, contagion, unemployment, and personal financial problems forestalled, as it were, by the specific application of Christian Science. Certainly nothing less than the true inspiration of God could have led Mary Baker Eddy to discover the Science which proclaims and demonstrates the fact that "divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 494).
It has been my great blessing to have been brought up in Science, to have attended Christian Science Sunday Schools, to be a member of a branch church and of The Mother Church, and to have had class instruction. I had little idea of the great power of Christian Science until one fall, when I was about eighteen. I unexpectedly moved to a strange city, and, shortly afterward, made my home in the family of a practitioner. Within a few months, this practitioner solved about as many human problems as could occur to one person. This made a tremendous impression on me awakening my interest in the power of God, good. I began to study Christian Science in earnest, and tried to apply it to every problem.
A year or so later, while in another city. I was injured at work. A case of metal weighing several hundred pounds slipped from a crane hook and fell on my foot. The X ray taken by the insurance doctor showed a fracture, and I was sent home. A practitioner was called, and I returned to work the following day. A second X ray was taken, and showed that the fracture had been completely healed.
