What Are We Accepting?

The light which Christian Science throws upon the sayings of Jesus reveals the fact that he was consistent in acknowledging but one Mind. At no time did he accept a fictitious mind as real. To the boastful claim of mortal mind expressed by Pilate at the time of the trial, he said, "Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above"—that is from the one Mind, God.

Paul clearly understood the Master's teaching in this regard. He called the counterfeit mind "carnal." "enmity against God." He knew that because "it is not subject to the law of God" it is lawless, unreal, nonexistent. He declared that "we have the mind of Christ."
