Proving Christian Science
[Of Special Interest to Youth]
A Young girl who was visiting in the country one summer planned to go to a concert and expected some friends to take her with them in their car. As the hour for the concert approached, her friends did not offer to give her a ride, and she found herself unexpectedly without transportation. Annoyed by what she felt was thoughtlessness on their part, she started to walk to the hall, her thoughts full of self-pity and resentment for the road was hot and dusty. Besides, she felt sure that she would be late.
This girl had been taught in the Christian Science Sunday School how to apply its teachings, and after a little time she realized that she was not being constructive in her attitude towards the situation. She saw that until her thoughts became more Godlike she could not expect her surroundings and experience to be harmonious.
She then set about to correct her thinking. She declared first that as God's idea she reflected His goodness, that being in His loving care she could never be out of her right place, and that being in her right place meant being happy, for she was surrounded by divine Love, which shuts out all discomfort.
