That God is Love and that Love heals are wonderful truths, of which I have had marvelous proof, and since I have an opportunity to tell about it in the Christian Science periodicals, I do so with great joy.

In November, 1938, I had an operation, which was said to be very serious. I was kept in the hospital for more than two months, and after that, although very weak, I went to the country to try to regain my strength. On my return home a month later, I found I was no better. It was then I learned that it was a serious case of cancer. At first I was rebellious, but when I collected my thoughts I had a strong feeling that there must be some way in which I might be well again.

Many years before, I had heard Christian Science mentioned, and now in my need I went to a Wednesday evening testimony meeting in the first part of March. Everything was strange to me, and I did not understand much of what was read from the platform. But the mental atmosphere seemed to me very peaceful, and the hymns were so beautiful that I was filled with a sense of calmness and harmony. After the meeting I met a practitioner, and I saw, when I had talked with her awhile, that I was on the right path. Her eyes beamed with goodness and the desire to help. She began helping me at once, and after a month I was much better and my condition continued to improve.
