I trust my testimony may hearten another just as I have often been encouraged.

I was under medical care for twenty years previous to taking up the study of Christian Science. I was suffering from a serious stomach ailment, and was unable to retain even water or milk. The doctor had given me just three months to live, but "man's extremity is God's opportunity." A friend, knowing of my condition, asked me to give Christian Science a fair trial. He had given me all Mrs. Eddy's writings, together with the Christian Science Quarterly, six months previously, but I had not even glanced at them. Suddenly an overwhelming sense of gratitude for this generous gift came to me. In prayerful humility I began the daily study of the Lesson-Sermon as outlined in the Quarterly. Soon my family noticed a decided change in my disposition. A bad temper and sharp tongue were being silenced by divine Love. Before the end of the doctor's "three months" I surprised my family by eating and enjoying a hearty meal without bad results. The nausea was permanently healed. With the help of a practitioner I was later healed of a severe and constant pain in my side. Again I was filled with a deep sense of gratitude and a humble desire to know more of this healing truth.

I am grateful to God for Christ Jesus, the Way-shower; for the inspired works of Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, for the spiritual uplift of class instruction, and for all the peace and health that blesses each honest, earnest seeker for Truth.—(Mrs.)Gertrude B.
