When I began the study of Christian Science, it would have been difficult to find a man in a lower state of mind. In a short period of time three loved ones had passed on under most trying conditions, and I had a vivid picture of suffering, death, and loss. This picture was so real to me that it affected my whole life.

In my extremity I thought that moving to a new location would solve my problems. I therefore left home and my activities in New York City, where I had been busy and happy for many years, and moved to Los Angeles, California. My difficulties were only increased, however, and I went on in this state of doubt and fear until a consecrated Christian Science practitioner began to work for me. Little by little, and it did seem very slowly, my thinking changed. I had more and better activity, the problem of supply was improved, and finally the day came when I could return to the place I called home; but first I had to turn unreservedly to God.

I am established once more in the work that I love, and conditions are much better than they ever have been. I have had many physical healings, too, and I have been able to fill professional engagements when it would have been impossible for me to do so if it had not been for Christian Science.
