At One with God and Unafraid

"I Will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence Cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth."

The Psalmist knew well the fear-removing power of this simple acknowledgment of God's allness. While the hills, from the material standpoint, were only expressions of natural beauty and strength, this lifting up of the Psalmist's eyes to the hilltops symbolized the lifting up of his thought to the realm of Soul, Spirit, whence came the realization of God's omnipotence and the consequent conviction of fear's nothingness.

Christian Science teaches and proves to us daily the allness of divine Mind and the nothingness of matter. Our ever-present, all-loving heavenly Father made all that was made, and there is no reality, existence, or power in that which claims to exist apart from Him. Encouragingly Mrs. Eddy has written, on page 192 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures": "The good you do and embody gives you the only power obtainable. Evil is not power. It is a mockery of strength, which erelong betrays its weakness and falls, never to rise."
