Christian Science Committee on Publication for District of Columbia Reports

It is a satisfaction to report that denominational antagonism toward Christian Science is lessening in Washington. Evidence to this effect is afforded by the invitation of the General Commission on Army and Navy Chaplains, with headquarters in the Woodward Building, to sit with the representatives of the principal Protestant religious bodies who constitute the Commission and to participate in their discussions; and by the invitation from the young people's organizations of several of the Washington churches to talk to their members about Christian Science.

With approval of The Christian Science Board of Directors, two talks were given by the Committee prior to 1942, and five talks were given during 1942.

Without exception the attention and apparent interest were all that could be desired. Many intelligent questions relating to Christian Science services, publications, and the organization were asked. Although, doubtless, in many instances the young people are prompted only by intellectual curiosity, it is believed that with some at least this curiosity may develop into positive and personal interest. In fact, it is known that some have been prompted to purchase copies of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and to attend Christian Science services and lectures.
