Church Dedications
Note: Christian Science churches are dedicated only when free from debt.
Chicago, Illinois (Fifteenth Church).—Three dedicatory services were held on Sunday, April 11. 1943, by Fifteenth Church of Christ. Scientist, Chicago, a branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ. Scientist, in Boston. Massachusetts. A short history covering the period from organization to dedication was read. The structure was constructed in steps of three units, and without debt.
In Austin, an interest in Christian Science had its beginning in the early period of the movement, but it was not until April 27. 1914. that Fifteenth Church of Christ. Scientist, Chicago, was formed.
Suitable quarters for the church were found in the Austin Masonic Temple. The first service was held on Sunday, May 3, 1914.
