Every Day a Sabbath
As we labor daily in the world, how helpful it is to realize that in fact all that is pure and true is of Mind, God; that God has created all things real forever, and that man is at rest in His creation! Every day, if we choose to see it, is a sabbath, blessed and hallowed by the Lord.
Man, the idea of God, in all his ways reflects divine goodness and expresses the wisdom, intelligence, and energies of Mind. The individual lives harmoniously and fruitfully in proportion as he seeks to see the Father's will done— seeks in loving obedience to demonstrate his unity with God.
The teachings of divine Science open the heart to the grandeur of spiritual love, that love which fulfills the divine commandments whereby Life is discerned rightly and man is properly governed. Mary Baker Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 467): "The first demand of this Science is. 'Thou shalt have no other gods before me.' This me is Spirit. Therefore the command means this: Thou shalt have no intelligence, no life, no substance, no truth, no love, but that which is spiritual." In Science it is learned that no human circumstances can possibly reverse the true idea of man—man at one with God good, joyfully expressing His creation. God has made everything for man to enjoy in the eternal sabbath day of Love and Truth, and in all the vicissitudes of daily life men may be quietly confident in the Father's all-embracing love, His unchangeable wisdom and irresistible power.
