The following testimony is given to help someone who may be struggling through an experience similar to one I had a few years ago.

When my son was sixteen years old he was sent home from school by the school nurse, who said he had the seven years' itch. I asked a Christian Science practitioner to start work for him. The next day a doctor from the board of health came out to examine him and told him to go to the board of health and board of education. He was examined and was told the same thing the nurse had told him. They said this condition would go on for years if I did not use a sulphur ointment. Every day or so a member of the health department or board of education telephoned or came out to try to persuade me to use some material remedy. I had faith to know that God would heal the boy. I was learning that "trials are proofs of God's care" (Science and Health, by Mrs. Eddy, p. 66). Many valuable lessons of patience were learned at that time. My husband and I had the same trouble, but none of us had much discomfort. It took nearly three months for the condition to be healed, but I have since heard that it sometimes takes years under medical treatment before there is a complete healing.

I want to tell of a healing I had a short time after this experience. My head was badly swollen and my face and scalp became very dry. I had work done by a faithful practitioner and worked on the definition of "oil" as given in the Christian Science textbook (p. 592): "Oil. Consecration; charity; gentleness; prayer; heavenly inspiration." After the healing my face became soft and smooth. That was five years ago. I was told by my barber that my hair would fall out, but instead it has grown thicker and is much easier to manage.
