Comfort of Love

When anxious hearts beat fast and yearn to know
How loved ones fare and in what lands they dwell,
In deep humility we learn to bow
Before that reassuring, "It is well."
Of her we only know her faith ran deep,
This Shunammite who sought Elisha when
Her little son lay still: hers not to weep
But know that all was well. The lesson then
For us is clear. To linger not in fear
Concerning those we love, but trustingly
Confide them to His care who holds most dear
His perfect child throughout eternity.
Comfort of Love! To God we turn in prayer
And know His healing love is everywhere.
