"Wait a little"

In a certain Sunday school class a little lad was continually running around the room, thereby interrupting a Bible story, and disturbing the other children.

The teacher had spoken to him several times, reminding him that he was Love's child, and Love ever gave joy and never took joy away from others, but the child paid no heed. The teacher was just going to speak to him again, this time motivated with a certain amount of impatience, when one of the little ones, scarcely more than a babe, put her hand on the teacher's arm and said, "Wait a little!"

Roused by this tender warning, the teacher asked the children to be still, because she wanted to talk with our Father. Turning to the one Mind, she became aware that there was no mortal mind arguing for disturbance, no unruly child to keep in order; only Love's perfectly ordered presence was there. A great peace stole over the room, and looking up she found that the children too were praying, including the little runner. Together she and those babes had proved the instant availability of God.
