Gift copies of books in the service editions are being presented by The Mother Church Sunday School to its members leaving for training with the armed forces of the United States. For some time it has been the custom for this Sunday school to present to its pupils, when they reach the age of twenty years, a leather-bound small pocket edition of the Manual of The Mother Church with a letter from The Christian Science Board of Directors. When a pupil is inducted into military service before attaining the age of twenty years, he is given the Manual when he leaves, as well as a copy of the service edition of the Bible, together with the service edition of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, also a copy of the Christian Science Quarterly.

Although it has not been possible in recent months to fill promptly all orders for the Bible in the service edition, these Bible are being supplied as rapidly as they can be prepared for delivery. In some instances, therefore, when Bibles are not obtainable, the copies of the Manual and Science and Health are presented and the Bibles are sent later.

Branch churches and societies may adopt a similar procedure if they so decide. In that event it would be well to send orders for the books as early as possible, in the usual manner, so as to have them for presentation at the proper time.
