"Blaze your trail!"

[Of Special Interest to Youth]

A young camper, who was a pupil in the Christian Science Sunday School, once accompanied a party of experienced Campfire Girls on an overnight hike, where the qualities of obedience, unselfishness, courage, and patient persistence played an important and constructive part in the safety and enjoyment of all.

Guided by veteran campers, the inexperienced newcomer was somewhat mystified by their frequent cautioning words, "Blaze your trail!" However, the young camper learned the wisdom of following their advice when retracing her steps on the homeward journey the next day. Having joyfully and obediently put up one of the trail signs at each step of her journey into unknown territory, she found that taking unneccessary steps or confusedly hunting for the right path home was avoided.

Among the Scriptural records of Jesus' teachings, which young people in the Christian Science Sunday School love to think and talk about, is the simple command he gave to his disciples in the Sermon on the Mount when he said, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."
