I wish to send in my expression...
I wish to send in my expression of gratitude for many blessings received through the study and application of Christian Science. When I first began to attend the Christian Science church services, I little knew I was to find Life itself.
At times it is hard to believe I once took drugs for different ailments, it has been so long since I did so. I am grateful beyond words for the overcoming of the smoking habit. This I knew was the stumbling block to my advancement in the study of Christian Science, and I was ashamed of it. With a sincere desire to be healed I asked the help of a Christian Science practitioner, following her instructions to keep reading our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. On the same day I again called the practitioner, and her words to me were, "Now you will have to make your stand." I did take my stand for Principle, and was completely freed from the bondage with which I had struggled long and hard.
With the help of the same practitioner I was later healed in one afternoon of an ulcerated tooth from which I had suffered for three days. I had been fearful that Christian Science could not heal difficulties with teeth as readily as other things. This experience was a proof that God's word is "quick, and powerful," as Christian Science teaches. The practitioner asked me to read the question and answer on pages 44 and 45 of "Miscellaneous Writings" by Mrs. Eddy, regarding teeth. The morning after this healing I could find hardly a trace of the error, which had been so angry looking the day before. After suffering intense pain for so long I cried for joy when I realized it had left and I was healed.
