I wish to add my testimony of...
I wish to add my testimony of God's protecting love and care to those of countless others who have expressed gratitude to the Giver of all good.
My first healing took place when I was about two years old. I had injured my arm near the shoulder, and my mother decided to try Christian Science rather than submit me to an examination by a doctor, for she feared he would cause me more pain. I could not lift my arm, so she telephoned to a practitioner and asked her to call. Before the practitioner arrived I was happily playing and using my arm freely. My mother was surprised and a little embarrassed, for she did not know how to explain this situation to the practitioner. When the practitioner arrived, my mother said to her: "I don't know what to say! When I called you, the child could not raise her arm, and now look at her!" Lovingly the practitioner told my mother she had expected just such good results, and why. From that day Christian Science became our only physician.
During childhood I experienced only two of the so-called children's diseases. Through my mother's consecrated protective work, contagion held no terror for me. As a mother myself now, I can better appreciate just how well my mother worked, and am truly grateful. I can recall having no fear of disease as a child, and it was not until I had a little one of my own that fear of contagion tried to creep in. I am glad to say that I have overcome this fear to a great extent recently. Articles in the Sentinel have been instrumental in exposing the powerlessness of this belief in contagion.
