Serenity

MAUDE WELLER SCOTT

For angel message, sweet and clear,
For stars that shine through misty blue,
Give thanks to God, who rules out fear
That time or space can fetter you.

For Love, on pinion swift and true,
Turns back the curtain of the night,
And heavenly gleam shines bravely through
The seeming dark—and all is light!

No doubt can enter consciousness
Where hope and faith and courage meet.
Give thanks to God! Obedience
Makes plain a path for willing feet.
