My introduction to Christian Science...

My introduction to Christian Science came through my mother's healing of sciatic rheumatism. Several years later I was led to attend the Christian Science Sunday School, and I began an earnest study of the Bible and the writings of our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. I was at that time in a dejected and inharmonious state of thought. The healing of this discordant condition did not occur at once, but in looking back I can see that gradually, as Godlike thoughts filled my consciousness and replaced the fearful, material, and self-centered thinking, I began to gain a sense of peace and contentment.

I have experienced many physical healings; some with the help of a Christian Science practitioner, and some through my own work. Among these were those of severe burns, bruised fingernail, infected toe, boils, injured ribs, broken kneecap, sprained neck, stomach trouble, constipation, skin disorder, torn ligaments, and frequent nosebleeds.

I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church. I also hold dear the experience of class instruction and the yearly association meetings. I value greatly the various church activities and the books and periodicals authorized by The Mother Church. I am thankful to God for our Way-shower, Christ Jesus, and for our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who made it possible for us to be enriched by this wonderful Science.—Lester Kohnfelder, Oakland, California.
