Easter Gladness

Easter speaks to us of the glory, newness, freshness, beauty, and promise of eternal life. Mortals need this reassurance, this evidence that Life is endless, continuous, perennial.

How the heart of faithful Mary Magdalene must have stirred within her as she went on her way to the tomb that first Easter morning! When she "and the other Mary" had approached the sepulcher, an angel spoke to them saying: "Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen.... And go quickly, and tell his disciples;" and as they went along the way, Jesus met them, and greeted them with the joyful words, "All hail." They saw before them the same Jesus whom they had known before the crucifixion. How their hearts must have rejoiced when they saw their risen Lord! Their Master was still with them! He had proved conclusively, and for all time, that no power can destroy the Life of man; that Life is God, eternal, indestructible; and that Mind, God, governs man.

Christ Jesus said to his faithful followers, "Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." The Christ, Truth, is present, now and eternally, to heal the sick, comfort the sorrowing, and cast out all sin.
