Fundamentals of Christian Science Practice

What a world of debate has been waged over the precise nature of the Supreme Being. Both argument and wonder recede when the individual discerns that the Supreme Being is his being. Truly there is no other. Then it is that one draws nigh to God, or rather recognizes his unity with the Eternal, which always was and always will be, without possibility of severance.

He grasps the significance of what Paul had in thought when he wrote to the Ephesians of one God and Father, "who is above all, and through all, and in you all." If a student of Christian Science, he will naturally recall that strangely stirring statement made by Mary Baker Eddy on page 470 of Science and Health, "Man is the expression of God's being."

Therefore keep in thought that man is spiritual and immortal. Really there is no other man. The material mortal, so commonly designated as man, is not man at all. He is no more than a misapprehension of man. Gain the true sense of yourself as spiritual and immortal, hence diseaseless and ageless, and this misconception of yourself as subject to sickness and dissolution will fade out.
