[The Biblical citations given in the Christian Science Quarterly are from the Authorized King James Version. The Bible Notes in these columns can be used, if deemed necessary, to elucidate some of the words or passages contained in the Bible Lessons. The Notes in this issue are related to the Lesson-Sermon designated to be read in Christian Science churches on January 10, 1943.]

"The bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven" (John 6:33)—More strictly in accord with the idiom of the original Greek would be: "The bread of God is that which comes down from heaven." Goodspeed suggests: "It is God's bread that comes down out of heaven."

"The first day of the feast of unleavened bread" (Matt. 26:17)—According to Exodus 23:15, this feast lasted for seven days during the month Abib (otherwise known as Nisan) and was closely associated with the Passover celebrated on the fourteenth day of the month.
