The Lectures

Introductions to Lectures

Montebello, California (First Church).

Lecturer: Paul Stark Seeley; introduced by Miss Ruth M. Duncan, who said: —

All followers of Christian Science are grateful for the many physical, mental, and moral healings that they have experienced through the study of Christian Science. I have always been very grateful for a healing that occurred soon after I became a student of Christian Science. I had worn glasses for seven years, after an automobile accident which had resulted in a skull puncture and fracture. I had gone to many doctors for treatment, but had been told that I had astigmatism, and that certain nerves to the left eye had been cut; that the condition could not be cured, and that I must always wear glasses. I was able to lay aside the glasses six months after becoming interested in Christian Science. The healing was accomplished solely through the study of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and through the unfoldment which came to me from an article in one of the Christian Science periodicals.
