A Christian Science period in the Columbia "Church of the Air" series was conducted from Station WGAR, Cleverland, Sunday, May 11, 1941, at 12 noon (Eastern Standard Time), by Mr. Philip S. Barto. This program was presented under the auspices of the Committee on Publication for Ohio, with the approval of The Christian Science Board of Directors. Mrs. Charlotte Mehringer Anderson, soloist, was assisted by Mrs. Jessie Havill Marlow, organist.

The program opened with Hymn No. 51 in the Christian Science Hymnal. Then Mr. Barto read selections from the Bible as follows: Ezekiel 18:1–4 (to :), 23, 30–32; John 9:1–3, 6, 7; John 5:1–3, 5–9; Philippians 3:13, 14; I John 3:1—3. And from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy: 467:9; 31:4; 63:5; 69:13; 240:18–32; 2:23–3; 3:12; from "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany": 12:17; also from "Miscellaneous Writings": 150:25; 151:13–15, by the same author.
