A group of young people met with their pastor each week, and one of the questions raised in the discussion was, "Can God be the God of all?" We should be forced to answer in the affirmative, for the foundation of Jesus' teaching was that he came for both the Jew and the Gentile, the rich and the poor, the great and the humble.
He was born in the "crossroads" of the world in his day. Palestine was the crossroads of commerce; the cradle of Jehovah worship. . . . The world into which he came was not unlike the world of our day, with the military power of Rome and its nationalistic theories. . . .
